Your First Session: What to Expect and How to Prepare

What To Expect

Our first session is important in setting your goals with your body and brain! It is the perfect time to establish the trajectory for future sessions as well, if you so choose.

When you come in expect to have an open and honest conversation about what brings you in, how you feel your body is doing, how you feel your brain is doing, major life events that are happening, and what your goals are for your body/brain. We will go over some of your background. I want to get to know you as a human being and you should expect to get to know me in return.

How To Prepare

Expect me to ask why you chose to come in and if you are experiencing any pains, aches, or discomfort in your body. Be as open with me as you feel comfortable. If you haven't filled out the paper client form before the visit then we will go over it in person. It should have been emailed and includes information about your past medical history, any surgeries you may have had, and anything that may be important for me to know regarding your physical and emotional self.

If you have past traumas, either physical, emotional, or both, you feel are pertinent and would like to share, then I welcome you to share those. Expect me to be respectful, professional, and empathetic. As a practitioner I thrive on establishing open communication with my clients and hope they feel safe enough to be honest with me.

I will then go over and explain what I work on, such as brainwork, organs, the lymphatic system etc. As human beings, we are a complex collection of systems and parts which are all integrated and which all affect each other. You and I will establish what we both agree is best for your specific situation and your unique body.

My Tips:

  • Wear comfortable clothing (shorts, t-shirt, pajama pants etc., you remain clothed in your sessions and should feel comfortable in your clothing.
  • come hydrated, your body and brain will thank you!
  • My goals are to get people to communicate with their own bodies, to teach them how to take care of their body systems, process emotions, and to get to know themselves better, so come prepared to be patient and compassionate with yourself
